Apache Appoints EDA Veteran as Vice President of Worldwide Sales

Craig Shirley Joins Apache to Lead the Company’s Continued Growth

Mountain View, Calif. – April 19, 2006 – Apache Design Solutions, the technology leader in physical power integrity solutions for system-on-chip (SoC) designs, today announced that Craig Shirley has joined the company as vice president of worldwide sales reporting to Andrew Yang, Apache’s chairman and chief executive officer. With the addition of Shirley and the expansion of the executive team, Apache is poised for the next level of growth (see related announcement “Apache Design Solutions Expands Executive Team”, April 19, 2006).

Shirley comes to Apache with more than 19 years of EDA industry experience, most recently at Jasper Design Automation where he served as vice president of worldwide sales and support responsible for growing their global business. Before joining Jasper, Shirley was vice president of North America sales at Verisity Design, now a Cadence (NASDAQ: CDNS) company, where he was a major contributor to Verisity’s initial public offering in March 2001 (“The best performing IPO of 2001”, Electronic Business). While at Verisity, Shirley built and managed a sales team of over 50 people and was responsible for the majority of the company’s revenue. Prior to Verisity, Shirley held various sales and management positions at Avant!, Aspect Development, Quickturn Design Systems, Ready Systems Corporation, and Viewlogic Systems.

Shirley began his career in EDA at Intergraph Corp. where he worked as an application engineer after graduating with honors from Auburn University, Huntsville Alabama receiving a BS in computer engineering.
