Apache and NXP Collaborate to Address 45nm Power Integrity Challenges for Advanced Digital Processor Design

SAN JO.E, Calif. – March 11, 2009 – Apache Design Solutions, the technology leader in power and noise integrity for chip, package, and system convergence, today announced the collaboration with NXP Semiconductors on advanced power solutions for the PNX85500 design – the industry’s first digital TV processor manufactured on the 45nm technology. NXP used Apache’s RedHawk power integrity, Sentinel chip power modeling (CPM), and package extraction early in the design flow. By doing this, NXP was able to optimize the power network and I/O pads, so helping to eliminate disruptive late changes to the floorplan, leading to the achievement of a best-in-class design time for the PNX85500.  NXP also used RedHawk’s Vectorless Dynamic and decoupling capacitance analysis for accurate power integrity signoff.
