Apache’s Sentinel-CPM Named a Finalist in EDN’S 18TH Annual Innovation Awards Competition
SAN JOSE, Calif. – February 6, 2008 - Apache Design Solutions, the technology leader in power signoff and silicon integrity platform solutions, today announced that Sentinel-CPM , the industry’s first combined chip-package-system (CPS) power and I/O integrity solution for IC-package co-design/co-analysis, has been selected from hundreds of nominations to be a finalist for this year’s EDN Innovation Awards. Instituted in 1990, the Innovation Awards honor the people, products, and technologies that have shaped the semiconductor industry over the past year. Apache’s Sentinel-CPM, launched in 2007, had been selected in the EDA-PCB, FPGA and custom IC tools category. Sentinel-CPM bridges the gap between IC and package/system designers by delivering a compact, spice-accurate model of the full-chip power delivery network for true co-analysis and optimization across the chip, package, and system. For early stage prototyping, Sentinel-CPM enables optimizations such as pad placements, decoupling capacitance strategies, and ensuring the fewest number of layers for the most cost effective package designs. From early stage throughout the design flow to signoff, Sentinel-CPM enables IC-aware power integrity analysis of package and system designs to minimize late stage design issues such as chip-package LC resonance and ensure successful package and system signoff. ”We are extremely pleased to once again be recognized by this prestigious award,” said Andrew Yang, CEO Apache Design Solutions. “In 2004, Apache’s first product, RedHawk, was selected as the Innovation of the Year winner, and in 2006, Apache’s PsiWinder product was selected as an Innovation of the Year finalist. This year’s nomination for Sentinel demonstrates Apache’s commitment to continuously innovate and deliver solutions that meet the challenges faced by designers.” During the month of February, EDN’s worldwide audience of electronics engineers and engineering managers will use an online ballot to select the ultimate winners from among the finalists. EDN’s editorial staff and Editorial Advisory Board also take part in determining the final winners. We encourage you to visit http://www.edn.com/info/CA6523252.html?industryid=48661 to vote. Winners will be announced at an awards ceremony on April 14, 2008 in San Jose, CA.
